Artist's Comments

An old railroad crane sits on a siding with some depressed center flatcars in New Castle, PA. Judging by her condition and lack of a main cable and hook, she hasn't seen any action in quite some time.

Sad. This crane reminds me of the classic Tyco HO scale crane of my childhood. She should be sent to a museum for rebuild and display/use rather than being left to rot.

Holy crap, I know exactly where that is at! Man, good to know that some things never change. :)

Neat! :) It's been almost 5 years since I have been by here, and I just got the bug to revisit here. I am glad I did.

I had the same crane when I was a kid to. :D It came in the Virginian set with the ALCO C430. That was the set that started it all.

Yeah, It has been so long since I was even near that area. Maybe about 3 years now I haven't been to PA. :D

Pity...but it's good news for the railroad I guess...that they don't have any need to use it...then again, most railroads just call up contractors whenever they put cars on the ground...
True. I see R.J. Corman around here quite a bit.

This reminds me of Chattanooga, TN where I had to sleep in the train car which is like a motel. I did see a Caboose just sitting there outside of some restaurant in Nebraska. Also when I was in Wisconsin for some Church trip, I saw this train car called "Grace" and it served as a chapel car. I have quite an extensive experience with these things.
