Once a proud king of the road, this 1936 Chevy is nothing more then a rusting hulk confined to the scrap heap. When new, this truck made deliveries for Ellsworth Coal.
It worked hauling coal for some 20 years until another owner purchased it. Then a few years later my family purchased it. This is the truck that helped build the farm. A crack block would eventually seal it’s fate.
This is the fate that awaits all new trucks. Whether it is a Silverado, Sierra, F-Series, Super Duty, or a Ram. Even your powerful H2’s will meet the same fate.
Ashes to ashes, rust to rust.

ooh... classy. Try it in B&W, as opposed to sepia. It might look more "earthy."

i really enjoy photos like this... I am somewhat of a muscle car enthusiast myself and i have seen many photos of old delapadated american muscle on a site called Cars in barns. [link] . Looking at these pictures in kind of sad because most of the destroyed cars on this site are ultra rare. some of these cars could fetch up to 500 grand if they were restored but sadly the owners refuse to sell them and they rot. beautiful photo by the way

I'll give it a shot. I have another shot a slightly different angle I'll use it on that one.

Thanks!
I know what you mean. Everytime one of these vehicles is scrapped a little piece of Detroit history dies with them.

What really bothers me is that this truck had a chance to be restored about 20 some years ago. Some guy came up to my uncle and asked to buy the truck, and my uncle said ok. He said he would be back the next day with the money, but he never showed up.

well its good that he would sell it if some asked. most people just lie to themselves and keep saying that they are going to restore it one day, then they die and it goes in the crusher
