Hello and welcome to The Railfan Nation!

Rules, Regulations, And Guidelines:

Code Of Conduct
Treat all others with respect. No attacking or spamming of other member's or deviant's pages, works, and or clubs.

Promotion And Demotions
Promotion: From time to time the administrative staff here at the club will discuss promoting members. This is done at staff meetings held in private. A member, who is deemed worthy, will be nominated by a staff member and a vote will be held. I selected the member will be then notified and can chose whether or not to accept the promotion.

Please note pestering admin staff about a promotion is a sure fire way to NOT be considered for one.

Demotion: Simply stated a promoted member who violates the rules can be subject to a demotion, as well as banishment from the group.

Leaving The Group
At some point and time if a member wishes to leave the group he or she can. If a person decides to rejoin the group they are more then welcome to.

Disciplinary Actions

If a member is caught breaking rules they will be notified. Action taken will be determined by the severity of the rule infraction. It can range anywhere from a simple warning to out right banishment.

Banned Members
When a member has broken rules and is banned from the club the following happens.

The member will receive a private message from the club stating that they are banned. Their banishment will not be made a public affair by the club. If any member asks why a member was banned they will be simply told that the member is no longer a part of the group.
The club will NOT persecute the banned member. Any club members caught harassing a banned member will be subject to disciplinary action.

3. If a member is banned for any reason from the group it is permanent.

Art Theft
We have a zero tolerance policy on art theft. Any work that is submitted and is found to be a stolen will be denied. The member will be banned from the club, and reported to the Deviantart administrative staff. Also theft of art from other members in the group will not be tolerated.

Please note we have set limits on our gallery as to how many works can be submitted per member per day. If you go over that limit, the extra works will not be accepted that day, and declined. You can submit those extra works the following day.

How To Submit Work:

1. Go to The-Railfan-Nation's page.

2. At the top right side of the page, under the tab bar and directly above the Featured thumbs, you should see a link button that says "+Submit to this Gallery". Click it.

3. From the drop down, chose whether you wish to submit directly to our gallery, or to submit an existing deviation.
If you choose to submit a new deviation, you will be redirected to the regular submit page where you can chose to submit to the group by making sure the check box is checked next to our Group name.

Please do not chose the "Submit exclusively to this group" option unless the deviation has been made exclusively for the The-Railfan-Nation.

If you chose to submit an older deviation, you will see a pop-up picker where you can pick which deviation you'd like to add to the gallery. You may only submit deviations from your own gallery; do not submit any art from your favorites or elsewhere on dA.

4. Click on the thumb you would like to submit, and then click on the ok button.

5. You will receive a notice in your message center that your deviation is awaiting approval. If your deviation is approved, the thumb will appear in our Gallery and the watch of all our members. This thumb is just a fancy link back to your original art; there is no double post. Anyone who clicks on the thumb will be sent directly to your original. All comments, pageviews, and favorites will go directly to you!

6. The following deviations will not be accepted if you attempt to submit them to our gallery:
Anything with gratuitous nudity or excessive violence/gore.
Anything that contains screenshots or other copyrighted art.
Any stolen artwork will be reported to the DA Admin and you will be banned from the group.

Any work that is an attack on another member, deviant, or group, or promotes hate.

Please note we have set limits on our gallery as to how many works can be submitted per member per day. If you go over that limit, the extra works will not be accepted that day, and declined.

As of 12-21-09 the submission limit is one per member per day.

If you have any questions please feel free to note the club.

Is it just Railway Photography, or could I submit drawings of locos to your group if I were to join?
