Description
CSX GP38-2 #2684 (ex-L&N) leads a mixed bag of four axle power, including a road slug.
The trailing unit is Great Miami GP35 #35. This unit was originally order by the Wabash but delivered to Norfolk & Western making it one of a few units on N&W with low noses and no dynamic brakes.
After I snapped this shot, I took off towards a crossing just down the road and waited. Another local with a GP38-2 still in Conrail colors was parked just west of the crossing waiting for this crew and a m.o.w. crew to clear the mainline. I planned on getting a meet between the two trains as well as a chance to get a shot of #35.
I waited at the crossing for the meet but it never came. After several minutes this crew coupled to the string of cars in the pic and pushed the train east into Youngstown.
This bridge is becoming one of my. The only thing that sucks about it is that it is one lane, and there is only one spot to park. On this day a contractor had parked his truck there taking up most of the spot. So besides dodging cars to get the shots I also had to worry about somebody hitting my truck.
